With nearly 20 years of military aerospace interconnect experience including experience on some of the most high-profile space programs such as the International Space Station and the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, as well as a presence on satellites such as the Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope, GEOLITE, and the commercial TDRS satellite, Phoenix Logistics, Inc. (PLI) is uniquely positioned to support the interconnect needs of space flight operations. We understand that each space project is unique and requires a unique mix of products and services. PLI provides ready-made products ranging from RF and microwave cable assemblies to Mil-STD-1553 Data Bus couplers, 1553 connectors, 1553 cable and 1553 accessories, to high-speed gigabit assemblies that meet space-level requirements. In addition to our wide interconnect product range we provide custom design, manufacturing, and complete space qualification testing of a variety of high frequency integrated data transmission solutions.

Building products that meet the rigors and demands of space flight requires understanding, coordinating, planning and executing closely with our customers to meet their documentation requirements. PLI's advanced ERP system allows the customer to be involved and informed at every step of the way from specification and design reviews through verification testing. The system provides comprehensive and real-time documentation to support every decision, event, and schedule, and --importantly-- provides complete traceability and verification at the click of a mouse. Our robust ERP system coupled with our ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications ensures that we can meet the rigorous documentation requirements of space-level production.

Space Level Screening

For Space end-use environments, PLI simplifies the specification process and reduces the number and breadth of controlling documents needed by offering three levels of screening enabling our customers to choose the degree of screening appropriate to each space application.  PLI’s screening levels span physical characteristics, material characteristics, electrical design characteristics, mating characteristics, and environmental and non-destructive test categories. Screening level options vary by product and material. Level 1 provides basic screening to meet space application requirements. Level 2 contains additional amounts of coverage and Level 3 provides the most robust screening available as governed by NASA-EEE-INST-002 and military specifications. See the screening tables below for a breakdown of screening processes for each screening level and download the test plan suites located in the sidebar for detailed information about all screening processes and tests.

Phoenix Logistics can also complement the above services with the following:  EEE parts engineering, part/product qualification, part upgrading, inventory management and analysis, and part stocking.

Contact us for more information on how we can assist you in meeting your space-level application needs.
